The Martin Public Library staff are thrilled to participate in another successful TN Soybean Festival in Martin! As part of our connected events this year, we are proud to host the “Crafting Blackness: 100 Years of Black Folk Art in Tennessee” exhibition, curated by the Slocumb Gallery at East Tennessee State University and Tennessee Craft.
This captivating collection of art and artifacts, installed on the library’s second floor, will be available for viewing until November 27th, 2024. We invite everyone to join us for a special panel discussion and reception on Thursday, September 5th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, where artists and the curator will be present to answer questions and engage with the community.
Light refreshments will be provided. Be sure to stop by the library during Soybean week to immerse yourself in this unique celebration of Black folk art in Tennessee.
